logoMark your calendars for the OSAF Annual Meeting. This meeting will focus on the future of Oregon's forests. Day one will highlight emerging land management issues, including changing ownerships, salmon recovery, and state and federal land use policy. The second day will cover the tools in use by forestry professionals to help address these issues. Topics include fuels management, bioenergy projects, LiDAR use, genetics and research updates on long-term productivity, and the Hinkle Creek paired watershed study.

Three exciting field trip options are planned. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the McKenzie River watershed - the principal source of drinking water for the Willamette Valley; they can learn about the Oxbow burn - past, present, and future management - 41 years later, or they can explore the history of the Giustina family ownership in Lost Creek from the days of railroad logging to today's operations.

The awards banquet will feature western story teller and author Rick Steber as speaker.

Spouses or guests will have the opportunity to visit local museums on Wednesday and/or investigate three local wineries on Thursday.

Don't miss this annual meeting, which will bring you new and exciting information, be lots of fun, and have the familiar and friendly feel of all of our OSAF annual meetings!
