message from the chair
With the new year I would like to welcome all of the new members to the Siskiyou Chapter of the Society of American Foresters. We have a lot of great events coming up this spring including firewood cuts, a conference on biomass, and great monthly speakers. february 19 meeting program
Judd Lehman from the Prospect Ranger District is working on a project concerning historical photos of the Prospect area. He is going to share this project with us on the 19th at the Hungry Woodsman. Social time begins at 6:00 with dinner and program to follow.
biomass conference
Plans are in the final stages for our chapter's Biomass Conference which will take place March 12 at RCC. Matt sent out an information and registration email for this conference to all chapter members on February 6. Please call Matt about any questions at 664.3328. Register early, seating will be very limited.
firewood project
With the work day we had last weekend we are now at 6 cords delivered and another half-cord or so split. We got a lot done with a crew of 13 and 2 splitters. Our next work day is scheduled for Saturday, March 1. It is hoped we will have a third splitter on site and, if so, can probably get it all split that day.
