Meeting Minutes

Highlights of the March Working Dinner Budgeting Meeting

General Business: Chapter Chair Al Tocchini reported that the National Office has a new insurance carrier. The new insurance policy coverage is strictly limited to planned events, such as regular chapter meeting. The minimum cost for a rider to cover special events, such as State Society Annual meeting field trips, is $300.00. This had been covered under the prior policy. OSAF leaders have been urged by chapter leaders to express our dismay at this turn of events to the National Office.

Treasurer’s Report and Development of 5-Year Budget Projection: Treasurer Terry Droessler reported that the current treasury balance is $6,868.32. Recent expenditures include:

$716 to OSAF to help balance their 2012 budget

$150 to Keep Oregon Green

$ 46.73 for newsletter expenses

Anticipated annual expenditures were discussed and include:

$500: Picnic

$450: Annual meeting and leadership conference registration for Chair and Chair-elect

$150: Dinner for monthly meeting speakers

$100: Newsletter expenses

$150: charitable contributions, specifically Keep Oregon Green

$1350: Total

At this rate of expenditures, the chapter balance would would be zero ($0.00) in 5.1 years

($6868/$1350 = 5.1 years).

Other possible expenditures could include a Capitol Chapter sponsored student breakfast or additional charitable contributions. Our chapter may want to consider sponsoring a fundraiser,such as a workshop or conference. Alternatively, cutbacks in planned expenditures may be needed.

Lastly, Chair Al Tocchini presented a 50-year SAF Golden Membership certificate to Cliff Grimmell
