chapters: central washington
I wanted to update everyone on some of the highlights of our April Central Washington SAF chapter meeting.
- New Chapter Vice President: Aaron Fox has asked to be replaced as Vice President of our chapter after a new Vice President has been nominated and voted on. Eric Watrud was the only member in attendance at the April meeting to express interest in the position. If anyone else is interested, please send me an e-mail expressing your interest prior to our next chapter meeting in May. We will vote on the new Vice President at the May meeting with the new Vice President assuming his responsibilities at the June meeting.
- 2009 WSSAF State Convention: Discussion on next year's convention continued. Eric Watrud and Eric Sjoquist both expressed interest in chairing next year's convention. A motion to have Eric and Eric co-chair the meeting was approved by those in attendance. In regard to the meeting location, we have pretty much narrowed the search down to Central Washington University or Suncadia. And a tentative theme for the meeting might be the "Spotted Owl 20 Years Later". Other T & E species in WA State and management implications could be discussed as well.
- Fall Tour: We are still looking for a theme and location for our annual fall tour. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
- May Meeting Location: I have been talking with the Cle Elum Ranger District and it looks like we could possibly have our May meeting at their office. Stay tuned for further details.
